M. Graça Pereira is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal. She earned her PhD at Florida State University, in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1995. She is a clinical member and an approved supervisor of AAMFT and a certified traumatologist (Traumatologist Institute, FL, USA). Her research has been conducted in the field of Family Health Psychology in particular chronic disease and traumatic stress. She current teaches undergraduate courses in family therapy to psychology and medical students, post-graduate courses in health psychology and also coordinates the health psychology unit at the University Counselling Center.

I took a five year long degree in Psychology at Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação of Universidade de Lisboa, with a nine month long externship taken in the last year of the degree at a drug abuse treatment centre in Cascais. I recently took a two year long postgraduate course in Systemic Family Therapy, in Lisbon, Portugal, trained and supervised by Pina Prata at Associação Portuguesa de Terapia Familiar e Comunitária (APTEFC). I am currently working for the Municipality of Lisbon at the Drug Abuse Intervention Office. I also collaborate with APTEFC as a psychotherapist at the family therapy service they provide, besides working as one in my own practice.

Dr. Mina Polemi-Todoulou, is a Greek Psychologist Psychotherapist, graduate of Bryn Mawr and Columbia Universities, trained at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AIA) in family and group psychotherapy and multilevel systemic interventions, by George and Vasso Vassiliou, pioneers of systemic therapy. She practices group and family therapy, training, and interprofessional consultation, as a senior staff member at AIA and in private practice. She has served as psychology professor at higher institutions in Athens and has trained health professionals and educators in collaboration with institutions in Greece and abroad. Her research and interventions address issues of socialization environments, kids’ heroes, group games, families, groups, adult education, prevention community programs. Kyriaki Protopsalti–Polychroni was born in 1952 in Greece, immigrated to Canada as a child where she went on to her first university studies, returning to reside and work in her native homeland since the late 1970’s. She is a psychologist, Group and Family Therapist, Trainer and Supervisor and a Senior Staff member of the Athenian Institute of Anthropos. She has contributed to a number of organizations and associations both on the national and international level. Founding Member of EFTA and, currently, General Secretary of its Training Institutes’ Chamber (EFTA-TIC). Founding Member of the American National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists (C.G.P.) and a long standing Clinical Member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (A.G.P.A.). Member of the Executive Council of the Association of Greek Psychologists (1984-1988). Founding Member of the Hellenic Association of Systemic Therapy. Kyriaki Polychroni has conducted workshops in centers throughout Greece, in other European countries (western, previous eastern and Ballkan region) and in Canada. She is renowed for setting-up experiential education programs within the school context aimed at sensitizing adolescents to family dynamics and at developing their skills in creative life orientation. She trains and supervises psychologists and teachers in the area of Prevention in the School System. Her special interest is on sociocultural change influencing family functioning, particularly families with adolescent members. Kyriaki is married for 25 years to Dr. Petros Polychronis with whom she has two adolescent daughters.
Kyriaki Protopsalti–Polychroni wurde 1952 in Griechenland geboren, emigrierte als Kind nach Kanada, wo sie auch ihre Studien aufnahm, bis sie Ende der 70er Jahre in ihr Heimatland zurückkehrte, um dort zu leben und zu arbeiten. Sie ist Psychologin, Gruppen- und Familientherapeutin, Trainerin und Supervisorin sowie ein Gründungsmitglied des Athener Instituts "Anthropos". Sie ist Mitglied verschiedener Organisationen und Verbände auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene. Gründungsmitglied der EFTA und gegenwärtig Generalsekretärin der Kammer der WB-Institute (EFTA-TIC), Gründungsmitglied der "American National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists (C.G.P.)" und seit langem Mitglied des Amerikanischen Gruppenpsychotherapie-Verbandes (A.G.P.A.). 1984 - 1988 Mitglied des Präsidiums der Vereinigung Griechischer Psychologen, Gründungsmitglied des Griechischen Verbandes für Systemische Therapie. Sie hat zahlreiche Workshops in Griechenland, Europa und Kanada durchgeführt, ist bekannt für die Entwicklung erfahrungsbezogener Weiterbildungsprogramme für den schulischen Kontext und führt Trainings und Supervision Psychologen und Lehrer im Bereich schulischer Präventionsarbeit durch. Spezielles Interesse gilt der Frage nach dem Einfluss soziokulturellen Wandels auf die Funktion der Familie, speziell mit Jugendlichen. Seit 25 Jahren ist sie mit Petros Polychronis verheiratet und hat zwei heranwachsende Töchter.

Petros I. Polychronis, M.D., Child-Psychiatrist was born in Athens in 1951. He completed his post-doctoral training in Family and Group Therapy with Drs. George and Vasso Vassiliou, founders of the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (A.I.A.) in Greece -the first center to practice family therapy in Europe. Dr. Polychronis is presently the Director of the A.I.A., where he is a Group and Family Therapist, Senior Trainer and Supervisor. He has also been involved as a consultant to the development of support programs for multi-problem families in a variety of contexts dealing with Child and Family welfare. He is a Founding Member of the European Family Therapy Association (E.F.T.A.), of the Hellenic Association for Systems Thinking and Family Psychotherapy, and of the Greek Society for De-Institutionalization and Mental Health. He has served on the Executive Council of the Hellenic Child Psychiatric Association and of the World Association for Social Psychiatry and is an Honorary Member of the Executive Council of the Therapeutic Center for Addicted Individuals and their Families (KE.TH.E.A.). Dr. Polychroni is a visiting lecturer at Postgraduate programs at the Universities of Athens, Crete and Ioannina. Main areas of interest/publication : Family Therapy Training. Er war auch als Berater bei der Entwicklung von Unterstützungsprogrammen für Multiproblemfamilien tätig, und dies in verschiedenen Kontexten, die sich mit der Situation von Kindern und Familien befassen. Er ist Gründungsmitglied der EFTA, der Hellenic Association for Systems Thinking and Family Psychotherapy und der Greek Society for De-Institutionalization and Mental Health. Er war Mitglied des geschäftsführenden Vorstandes der Hellenic Child Psychiatric Association und der World Association for Social Psychiatry. Er ist Ehrenmitglied des Vorstandes des Therapeutic Center for Addicted Individuals and their Families (KETHEA). Er ist Gastprofessor für Master- und Doktorstudiengänge an den Universitäten Athen, Kreta und Ioannina.
